What are superfoods?

Is there a nutritional word like superfoods? Is there a criterion of such characterization? Scientifically no. It is nevertheless well accepted that there is a group of foods in the food industry referred to as superfoods. Foods with high nutritional content with the ability to improve the health of a person more than others have overtime been labeled superfoods. “Super” because the results are actually superb! Interestingly, most of these superfoods are very popular. Many of us eat them without even knowing that they are superfoods. Turmeric for example. Mostly used as a spice by many to make food look good in the eye, like the color pop in your fried rice! Others use lime or garlic as a meat tenderizer in a marinade. How fascinating, right?
